pada etape 9 Reli dakar 2012 cryl despress pereli dari perancis dengan menunggang KTM 450cc kembali memimpin klasemen dengan total waktu 5 jam 30 menit 17 detik, kemudian posisi kedua ditempati Coma dari spanyol
+ 2 menit 28 detik, posisi ketiga Helder Rodrigues penunggang Yamaha WRF 450 dari Portugal + 59 menit 19 detik. dengan menempuh jarak Iqueque ke Arica sejauh 475 km di Cile. Despres dan Coma sempat terkena sanksi penalti selama 15 menit oleh pengawas perlombaan (steward the meeting) karena mengganti mesin. wow makin seru aja pertarungan dua pereli ini yang sama sama pernah menorehkan 3 kali juara Dakar.
